Amityville’s Frank Pryz, trucker and AFD member

Frank W. Pryz, who lived in Amityville for 35 years, died February 20, 2005. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Pryz was self-employed for most of his life, driving a Bachman truck route, delivering snacks in the Bay Shore area for ten years. At one time he also owned and operated a bar in Lindenhurst.
He was a member of the Amityville Fire Department for about five years and was involved with the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Pryz served in the U.S. Army for ten years. He enjoyed gardening and following Yankees baseball and Jets football games, according to his wife, Pat, of 40 years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Pryz is survived by his children, Beth Damp and her husband Charles, Nicole Mercato and her husband Michael and Frank and his wife Sandy, all of Amityville. His grandchildren, Paige, Christopher, Samantha, Christine, Kayla and Frankie also survive him as does his sister-in-law Elizabeth Martucci, his nephew Joseph and niece, Elise.
Mr. Pryz reposed at the D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, 99 Oak Street, Copiague. A funeral mass was said at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Massapequa, followed by a private cremation on February 24, 2005.
