At the Library... Copiague 50 Deauville Blvd. 631-691-1111 •The Library is offering a trip to the Museum of Modern Art, Saturday, February 26, 2005. The bus departs the library 9:30 a.m. and then departs New York City, 4 p.m. The cost is $26 per person for residents and $31 per person for non-residents. There will be plenty of time to eat and explore the neighborhood on your own. Price includes deluxe motor coach transportation, box lunch, admission to museum and all gratuities. •A trip to see the Wizard of Oz at The Broadhollow Theatre will be held Saturday, March 5. Departure from the library is 12:45 p.m. and departure from the Broadhollow Theatre is 3:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per person for residents and $11 per person for non-residents. The price includes school bus transportation, admission to the theatre and all gratuities. •On Sunday, February 20, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Banjo Rascals will perform music from their repertoire ranging from Ragtime to Rock and Roll. •On Wednesday, February 23, 7 to 9 p.m. the library will offer a program on the rules of safety that you can teach your children as well as the signs of sexual abuse. Amityville Oak And John Streets 631-264-0567 •Artwork from Amityville Schools will be on display at the library throughout the school year. For the month of February the library will showcase artwork from Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School teacher Denise Ferencik. •Bakithi Kumalo and His All Star Band will perform at the library Thursday, February 17, 7 to 8 p.m. Tickets are required and are available for free at the circulation desk. •Join local artist and quilter Arline Wood for a four week quilting workshop to be held Mondays, February 28 and March 7, 14 and 21, 1 to 3 p.m. Some hand and sewing machine experience is required. Materials lists and quilting supplies will be posted at the time of registration. Wood’s quilt pattern will be on display before registration. |
