Waging war is not a partisan pursuit, says writer

Dear Editor:

My maternal grandfather who arrived on American soil in the 1860s told his children as they grew, vote democratic locally, if you wish, but for President vote Republican.

He passed on in the arly 1900s, but that was before President Wilson (D) declared World War I and before President Roosevelt (D) sent our troops into world War II and before President Truman (D) sent our troops to South Korea. It was also before President Kennedy (D) sent troops to Vietnam for 12 years, but now that a Republican President has a war going in Iraq, the Democrats forget the past and condemn him, even though we were never before attacked on American soil.
