Claudette Wisliceny, former Amityville resident

2003-11-27 / Obituaries

Claudette "Carrie" Wisliceny, a former resident of Amityville, died October 6, 2003 after a short illness.

After the death of her husband, George, Mrs. Wisliceny moved to Delaware to live with her daughter, Barbara, where until recently, she enjoyed reasonable good health and the loving closeness of her family and friends. She was delighted and surprised, laughing and dancing at her 90th birthday party this last June, said her family.

Mrs. Wisliceny had many friends in her former home village of Amityville, where she lived for 40 years. She spoke of those friends often.

Her children, Barbara Spangler and Georgette Filgate, grandchildren JoAnna and Thomas Filgate, surviving sister and brother Olga Vitiello and Salvatore Diamonte and her "almost" daughter Linda Eighmy, as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends survive her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Retired Seniors Volunteers Program, R.S.V.P. Advisory Committee, Inc. 1901 North DuPont Highway, Debnam Building, New Castle, Delaware 19720.

A memorial gathering was held November 9, at D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, 99 Oak St., Copiague. Interment was in Long Island National Cemetery at Calverton.
