Handler named man of the year
by Daughters of American Revolution
Col. Gilbert Potter Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented a community service award to a local attorney, Richard Handler. Janice Todt, community service award chairman said "The purpose of this award is to acknowledge local individuals who have dedicated themselves to spreading historical information, participating in civic endeavors to the betterment of the community and volunteering for many Village projects."’ She went on to say "Richard, you certainly are recognized by the Village of Amityville for your caring and your accomplishments. Amityville is fortunate to have you working for the Village in so many ways."
