Charles Barry Fox, restaurateur and AMHS graduate

Charles Barry Fox, a former resident of Massapequa and a graduate of Amityville High School, died September 30, 2002. He was 70 years old.

Mr. Fox was born December 24, 1931 to Marie and Charles Fox of Richmond Hill and St. Albans, New York. He attended Catholic Elementary School at St. Martins. While he was in high school he was considered the school’s star basketball player for several years, earning a scholarship to Seton Hall University. He later served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Mr. Fox was employed by many restaurants on Long Island and was the owner of Fox’s Steak House in Blue Point, New York. During his residence in New Hampshire, he was employed by the VFW and in Arizona by the American Legion.

Mr. Fox is survived by his son Barry Fox Jr., of Framington, New Hampshire; his daughter Jessica Fox of Flagstaff, Arizona and by two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Alice Serdock of Stony Brook; Betsy Wagoner of Lyndell, Pennsylvania and Jane Chrisholm of Greenland, New Hampshire.

A memorial service was held in Mesa, Arizona, October 12, 2002.
