Cartoonist—and Dennis Miller—are right
2002-08-14 / Opinion
Dear Editor:
I really enjoyed the editorial cartoon in the July 18th issue.
On the same issue, I received the following email a few days ago. I thought you’d get a kick out of it. It’s so true.
Hooray for Dennis Miller ...
Regarding the judges who declared the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional, Dennis Miller said recently on his show:
"So, Your Honor, the Pledge is unconstitutional because it says ‘Under God.’ Guess that means when you were sworn in with your hand on a Bible, and at the end of your oath you repeated, ‘...so Help Me God’ ... that then makes your job unconstitutional! Therefore you have no job, which means your ruling doesn’t mean s—t."
