Elizabeth G. Koehler, longtime member of St. Martin’s

Elizabeth G. Koehler, a 51-year resident of Massapequa, died July 9, 2002 at the Parkview Nursing Home. She was born in Amityville On October 19, 1926.

Mrs. Koehler was a longtime member of St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church.

Mrs. Koehler is survived by her husband of 51 years, James E. Koehler. Also surviving her are her children, Elizabeth Ann Lee of West Hempstead; Jean Marie Lowery of Amityville, James E. Koehler of Amityville; Thomas Henry Koehler of Red Bank, New Jersey as well as nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving her are a sister and brother-in-law, Nettie and Lawrence Carswell of Massapequa; a sister and brother-in-law Lulu and Peter Horishny of Farmingdale and a brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Margaret Glywaski of Texas.

Father Ardi Benitez said a prayer service at the Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, July 10. A funeral mass was said at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Thursday, July 11, 2002. Members of the family, assisted by the Consolation Ministers, assisted in the Liturgy of the Mass and as pallbearers. After a private cremation, interment was in Pinelawn Memorial Park on Friday, July 12, 2002. Arrangements were under the direction of the Powell Funeral Home.
