In coordination with the Suffolk County Project Liberty Unit, the Amityville Public Library’s Children’s Department is participating in the Children’s Liberty Quilt Project.

Children are invited to design their own quilt square using fabric paints, indelible markers or stencils as a form of creative expression related to their feelings and experiences of September 11 and its aftermath. The theme of the quilt is Liberty/Freedom/Community. Children may pick up a quilt packet at the library. Project Liberty Staff will coordinate the quilt assembly. One quilt, for each library, will serve to represent their community. All participants should submit their designs by August 16 to the Amityville Public Library.
