Give a kid a job this summer
We’ve heard from some of our readers that things are pretty tough out there for teens looking for summer employment. So, we’ve decided to bring back our free help wanted ads for teens.
Beginning next week, any youngster under 21 who is seeking a part-time summer job can submit an ad to us outlining what type of a job they are seeking and their availability. Include your name, age and phone number and we’ll print the ads in a special section within our classified ad pages. Our hope is that anyone looking for help this summer will review the ads and call a kid or two.
Our only request is that parents, especially the parents of those under 18, monitor the responses carefully and make sure they check out those who respond to these ads before allowing their child to go to anyone’s home or place of business.
Whether you need someone to cut your lawn or help in your store or clean out your basement, there’s likely a kid out there who could use the job.
So, readers, be sure to check the teen classifieds next week and each week throughout the summer, and give a kid a job.
