•Registration is underway for Splish! Splash! Read!, the summer reading club for patrons in grades six to 12. There will be fabulous prizes and free giveaways. Participate by reading and reporting on at least 10 books by Friday, August 9. Everyone who successfully completes the program gets to attend an end-of-summer Splash Bash.
•The Italian movie The Clowns will be shown Saturday, June 29 as part of the library’s foreign film festival. A buffet dinner will be served. Registration is underway.
•A patriotic program for children will be offered for children. Program No. 506 will be held Monday, July 1, 10 to 11 a.m. for children age three and one half to five years old with a caregiver and Program No. 507 will be held Monday, July 1, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for children in first grade and up. Registration is underway.
•A trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum will be offered Saturday, July 27. The bus departs the library 10:30 a.m. and then departs the Museum 4:30 p.m. The cost is $24 per person. The USS Intrepid, a 40,000 ton, 9800 foot long aircraft carrier that served in World War II and Vietnam will be visited. There are numerous film exhibits as well as aircraft, tanks, missiles, uniforms and other artifacts. You can also tour the guided missile submarine Growler, the destroyer Edson and many others. All tours are self-guided. The price includes deluxe coach bus transportation, admission to the museum, box lunch and all gratuities. Registration is underway.

•The Amityville Public Library is offering its annual summer reading program for young adults in grades six through twelve as of September. Registration is underway. The theme for the program is Survival in the Wilderness. Prizes will be awarded.
•Registration is underway for Splish Splash Read! 2002, the summer reading club at the Amityville Public Library for all children entering pre-kindergarten through grade six. Registration will be held through July 12.
