Freedom Outreach to hold anti-drug rally
There will be a giant outdoor anti-drug rally, Tuesday, June 25 through Friday, June 28 at Freedom Outreach, 641 Broadway, Amityville beginning 5 p.m. and sponsored by long Island Teen Challenge (L.I.T.C.). Long Island Teen Challenge is a 14 to 16 month residential drug and alcohol restoration program. LITC currently houses 30 men students and 15 women students and staff in three large homes on a four-acre estate in West Babylon.
The Rally will offer games, puppet and clown shows for kids beginning 5 p.m., as well as bicycles, basketballs and toys to be given away free during the Gospel concert later in the day. the event will be highlighted with a community barbecue at 6 p.m. of hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, chips and soft drinks, as well as a Gospel concert beginning at 7 p.m.
Testimonies by former drug and alcohol abusers will be proclaimed, as well as dramatic skits and music. The Long Island Teen Challenge Gospel Choir will share their drug free songs, while other local musical and drama groups will unit in a presentation sure to be both inspirational and informative.
