Mr. and Mrs. John McDonough announce the engagement of their daughter Maureen Mary to Wade Hughes.

While out for a walk on a beautiful late summer evening, Wade asked Maureen to be his wife. The ring Wade presented to Maureen is very special. It was created from heirloom diamonds from his maternal grandmother’s brooch.

Upon return from their walk, the couple was congratulated by friends and family. The family members on hand to celebrate the happy occasion were Maureen’s twin sister Erin and her husband Sean, as well as Jenny, Maureen’s youngest sister. The bride-to-be has another sister, Kerry Henzy and brother-in-law Tim and a brother, Mick.

Wade is the son of Brian and Kay Hughes from Lakewood, Colorado. The future groom has a twin brother, Wayne, as well as an older brother, Scott.

Maureen and Wade met at Western Maryland College where they both graduated in 1993 with their undergraduate degrees.

The wedding is planned for October 2002 at St. martin of Tours church in Amityville. The reception will be held at the Bayview House of Captain Bill’s in Bay Shore.
