Local residents attend 105th conference of Daughters of the American Revolution
      The following local residents recently attended the 105th New York State Conference of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Albany, New York. Nails by Lois collects for breast cancer
      On October 14, over 50 staff members and patrons of Nails by Lois, Amityville, came out for the second annual Breakfast and Walk at Jones Beach. A total of $1,394 was collected in the sale of shirts for the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition. Other donations went to Strides Breast Cancer. The group is shown below.

Amity resident asked to participate in National Youth Forum on Law
      Kathleen Kretz of Amityville has recently been selected to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law (NYLF/LAW) from November 6 to 11 in Washington, D.C. Having demonstrated academic achievement and an interest in law and justice, Kretz will join more than 350 outstanding high school juniors and seniors from across the United States at the Forum.

Funeral Home owner honored for charitable sponsorship
      Travis Nicholson, owner and operator of the Massapequa Funeral Homes in Massapequa Park was recently honored for being the main sponsor of the 2001 Annual St. Rose Golf Outing, which raises money for local charities. He is shown at left with Monsignor Dan Hurley of St. Rose.
