DAR holds philanthropic luncheon
Col. Gilbert Potter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a philanthropic luncheon at Southward Ho Country Club honoring New York State Regent Mrs. Caesar B. Pattarini.
Mrs. Pattarini brought a message to the guests from the Continental Conference in Washington earlier this spring and information concerning the new administration and their projects. The topic of her speech was Lighting Freedoms Flame - American Revolution - 225th year.
Several chapters throughout Long Island were represented, including Jerusalem, Southampton Colony, Ruth Floyd Woodhull, Ketawamoke, North Riding, Oyster Bay, Col. Aaron Ogden and Anna Smith Strong.
Mrs. Nicholas R. Krauszer, new elected regent of Col. Gilbert Potter Chapter introduced three national and state officers, including Mrs. Walter DeVries, reporter general; Mrs. Edward Norwesh, state librarian and Mrs. Frederich Dreyhaupt, Northeast Division national chairman Americanism and Manual for Citizenship. Mrs. Krauszer also introduced District X and XI Director Mrs. Donald Griffing. Mrs. Dreyhaupt gave the invocation and Vice Regent Mrs. Eugene Shreve led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
In closing Mrs. Krauszer thanked her committee: Mrs. Thomas Giordano, Mrs. Eugene Shreve, Mrs. Eugene Nifenecker and Mrs. David D’Antonio.
