Copiague School District Board of Education Trustee Rosemary Natoli has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Nassau Suffolk School Boards Association. Mrs. Natoli who has been serving as a Copiague School Board Trustee for the past nine years will also serve in her new position for the next three years. More ... Amityville Brownie Troop 1035 and leaders Nancy Siry and Cathy Deluna from St. Martin's School helped beautify the Village to earn a community service badge by planting flowers at the Dennis Griggs Memorial Garden at the ball field at Amityville Village Beach. This program provides Social Security beneficiaries with disabilities more choices for receiving employment services. This legislation was designed to help eliminate the barriers that disability beneficiaries encounter when attempting to return to work. As of July 1, South Oaks Hospital in Amityville, became the very first program approved in New York State to be designated a provider of services to these beneficiaries. South Oaks Hospital has been named an "Employment Network," and will be working to help facilitate a successful return to work for many Social Security beneficiaries. More ... Col. The Amityville Historical Society is grateful to both the local Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs for the new ramp for disabled visitors. The project was a joint effort by these two very active clubs. After the Rotarians demolished and removed the old ramp, the Kiwanians applied their well-known mechanical and construction expertise.
