	The U.S. Coast Guard Flotilla 1-2 of Amityville is holding a Safe Boating Course Saturday, August 4 at theÿWilliam Kay Memorial Building, 16 Greene Ave., Amityville. Topics include an introduction to boating, personal safety, handling your boat and navigation. The cost is $45 for adults and $25 for children. For more info., call 631-691-1801. 	The Kiwanis Club of Amityville recently sponsored Amityville High School student Jocelyn Homola, left, at the HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth) New York South Leadership Seminar.  The HOBY Leadership Program, established in 1958, runs seminars annually throughout the United States.  The workshop was held at Adelphi University, June 1 to 3.  Students are selected because of the outstanding leadership potential they have demonstrated.  Each high school selects one sophomore as their representative to the workshop.  HOBY's mission is to seek out, recognize and develop leadership potential in high school sophomores in the United States and abroad.  Homola is shown with junior HOBYÿstaff member Steve Coppolino.
