Marion Phannemiller, lifelong Amityville resident

Marion E. Phannemiller, a life-long resident of Amityville, died May 12, 2000 at the Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens at the age of 91. Born in Amityville June 29, 1908, Mrs. Phannemiller was a founding member of the North Amityville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Amityville Chapter #700, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Phannemiller’s husband F. Burton predeceased her in October 1981. She is survived by her son Burton E. and daughter-in-law, Kathryn A. of Bellerose Village; her brothers, Gerald Egelund of Amityville and Arnold Egelund of Florida; a sister, Elizabeth Borgwardt of Lindenhurst; her grandchildren, Patricia Robert Antonellis of Amityville and Karen and Brian Phannemiller of Bellerose Village and two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Robert Antonellis of Amityville.

Amityville Chapter #700 conducted services at the Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, Sunday May 14. The Reverend SaraLouise Krantz, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Massapequa officiated at services in the funeral home Monday, May 15. She also conducted committal prayers at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn where interment followed. Arrangements were under the direction of the Powell Funeral Home.
