•Quilting classes are held Saturdays through February 19, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Beginners are always welcome and you should bring your own materials. A knitting and crocheting group meets immediately after the quilting class from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. No registration is required.

•Free blood pressure screening is offered under the auspices of Brunswick Hospital on the fourth Monday of each month. No registration is necessary.

•The Copiague Book Discussion Club welcomes new adult participants who are interesting in reading and lively discussion. February’s featured book is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. The discussion will be February 22, 7:30 to 9 p.m.. Copies of the book may be obtained at the circulation desk.

•On Tuesday, February 22 you can join artist Christopher to create a beautiful Wycinanki flower. children ages seven and up may register for either Program No. 203, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or for Program No. 204 from noon to 1 p.m.

•Shebop, the singing musical clown, a member of the Clowns of American and Alley Oops will be at the Copiague Library, Wednesday, February 23 to perform music and magic. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade may register for Program No. 205, which will take place from 1 to 1:45 p.m.

•Artist, Christopher will teach you to make your very own Mega Cricket on Thursday, February 24. Children ages seven and up may register for one of two programs: Program No. 206 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or Program No. 207 from noon to 1 p.m.

•The Amityville Public Library will be closed through Tuesday, February 22 for interior renovations and redesign. The project includes the installation of a new telephone system, computer cabling and additional shelving space for popular collections. Through "direct access," Amityville Public Library patrons may access any of the public libraries of Suffolk County for basic service. The board of Trustees and staff of the library apologize for any inconvenience to their patrons.
