NAFCo puts out car fire on SS Parkway
Photo by Joe Turner North Amityville Fire Company volunteers and Suffolk Police rushed to the scene of a car fire Tues., Jan. 17. According to accounts, a driver was traveling east on Southern State Parkway. At the Route 110 overpass, he apparently observed smoke coming from the engine and pulled the vehicle to the side of the highway and jumped out. The car erupted into flames. No injuries were reported.
North Amityville had approximately eight volunteers on the scene and two pumpers. The fire was brought under control quickly.
