Turnovers keep police, rescue busy
Amityville Village Police and Fire Rescue rushed to assist a woman whose vehicle struck a tree, hit the curb and rolled over on an icy road. Hearing set on proposed law for accessory apartments

Gov looks to link real property tax credit to level of school spending
Proposal would penalize property owners living in school districts that increase tax levy's more than four percent

A plan to bring what he termed “real tax relief for New Yorkers,” was proposed recently by Gov. David Paterson as part of his new budget and is under review by the legislature.
